By using Zanvy, you agree to how we handle your personal information as set out in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our services.
1. Who We Are
Zanvy is an Australian for-sale-by-owner (FSBO) property listing platform available on iOS and Android. It allows private sellers to list residential property directly, and allows buyers to browse listings and contact sellers — without agents or commission.
Contact: support@zanvy.com.au
2. What Personal Information We Collect
We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide our services. This includes:
- Identity information: your full name and email address when you create an account.
- Contact information: phone number, if provided for buyer or seller enquiries.
- Property information: property address, suburb, state, postcode, asking price, property details, and photos you upload as part of a listing.
- Payment information: credit or debit card details when paying listing fees. Card data is processed and stored by Stripe — Zanvy does not store full card numbers or CVVs.
- Communications: messages exchanged between buyers and sellers through the in-app chat feature.
- Location data: approximate location used to display property maps (via Mapbox).
- Usage data: information about how you interact with the app (e.g. screens viewed, features used) to help us improve the service.
- Device information: device type and operating system version, collected by our infrastructure providers for security and operational purposes.
3. How We Collect Personal Information
We collect personal information:
- Directly from you when you create an account, submit a listing, send a message, or contact support.
- Automatically when you use the app, through our infrastructure and analytics providers.
- From Stripe, when a payment is processed, to confirm transaction status.
We collect personal information only by lawful and fair means, and not in an unreasonably intrusive way.
4. Why We Collect and Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
- Create and manage your Zanvy account.
- Publish and manage your property listings.
- Facilitate communication between buyers and sellers via in-app chat.
- Process listing fee payments securely via Stripe.
- Send transactional emails (e.g. account verification, listing confirmations, payment receipts).
- Send push notifications about enquiries and listing activity (only if you have granted permission).
- Respond to support enquiries.
- Improve and maintain the Zanvy platform.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We will not use your personal information for any purpose that is unrelated to the above without your consent.
We may, with your express consent, send you marketing emails about new features, tips, or other Zanvy services. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by emailing support@zanvy.com.au. Unsubscribing from marketing emails does not affect transactional emails about your account, listings, or payments.
5. Disclosure to Third Parties
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following trusted third-party service providers, and only to the extent necessary for them to perform their services:
| Provider | Purpose | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication, and file storage | Japan (AWS Tokyo region) |
| Stripe | Secure payment processing — Stripe collects card data directly from your device. Zanvy never sees or stores full card numbers, CVV codes, or bank details. | United States (with global processing infrastructure) |
| Mapbox | Address autocomplete and mapping | United States |
| Resend | Transactional email delivery | United States |
| Expo | Push notification token routing | United States |
| Apple / Google | Final push notification delivery to your device | United States |
| Meta Platforms | Advertising measurement only — Meta Pixel on zanvy.com.au measures which Instagram campaigns drive visitors; Meta Conversions API receives hashed payment confirmation events from our server for the same measurement purpose. The Zanvy app does not share data with Meta directly. | United States |
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data. Personal information disclosed to overseas recipients is subject to APP 8 — before engaging a provider, we assess their privacy practices, security certifications (such as SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001), and contractual data protection terms in their standard service agreements.
We may also disclose personal information if required to do so by law or in response to a valid request by a government or law enforcement authority.
6. Listing Visibility
Property listings you publish on Zanvy — including the property address, photos, asking price, and listing description — are visible to all users of the app. Your name is only shown on your listing if you choose to display it; you may opt to be shown as "Private Seller" when creating your listing.
Your email address and phone number are never displayed publicly on the platform. All buyer enquiries are routed through the in-app chat system.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Our security measures include:
- Data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Data stored on our infrastructure is encrypted at rest by our providers (Supabase / AWS).
- Row-level security policies on our database ensure users can only access their own data.
- Payment card data is never stored on Zanvy servers — it is collected and processed exclusively by Stripe, which holds PCI-DSS Level 1 certification.
- Access to backend systems is restricted to authorised personnel only.
No system can guarantee complete security. If you become aware of a security issue, please contact us at support@zanvy.com.au.
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active, or as long as is necessary to provide our services and meet our legal obligations.
When you delete your account through the app:
- Your profile (name, email, phone number, profile photo) is anonymised immediately.
- Your active listings are deactivated and removed from search results.
- Buyer and seller chat messages remain visible to the other party in each conversation. To request deletion of specific messages, contact support@zanvy.com.au.
- Payment and transaction records are retained for 7 years to meet Australian Taxation Office requirements under the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 (Cth) and A New Tax System (Goods and Services Tax) Act 1999 (Cth). These records are retained in pseudonymised form where possible.
- Account deletion audit records are retained for 7 years for security and dispute resolution purposes.
Account deletion is immediate and cannot be reversed. You can delete your account at any time through Profile → Account → Delete account.
9. Your Rights — Access, Correction and Deletion
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete.
- Request a copy of your personal information in a structured, commonly used format.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal information.
We may need to verify your identity before processing a request. In some circumstances we may be unable to provide access or delete information (for example, where retention is required by law), and we will explain why if that is the case.
10. Cookies and Tracking
The Zanvy mobile app does not use cookies or third-party analytics SDKs. The app itself does not track your behaviour or share data with advertisers.
The Zanvy website (zanvy.com.au) uses standard web server logs for operational and security purposes. The website also uses Meta Pixel — a browser-based measurement tool — solely to measure the effectiveness of our own Instagram advertising campaigns. This is not third-party advertising displayed to you; it measures which of our ads drove traffic to our site.
11. Advertising and Analytics
Zanvy runs paid advertising campaigns on Instagram to promote the app. We are the advertiser — Zanvy does not display third-party ads inside the app or website.
To measure the effectiveness of our Instagram campaigns, we use two tools on zanvy.com.au:
- Meta Pixel — a small piece of JavaScript on our website that logs page visits and conversion events (such as a visitor completing a payment) so we can understand which ad campaigns are working.
- Meta Conversions API (CAPI) — a server-side integration in our Supabase backend. When a listing payment is confirmed, a one-way hashed (SHA-256) version of the purchaser's email address is sent to Meta solely to match the conversion to the relevant campaign. The original email is not forwarded or retained by Meta for this purpose.
Meta Platforms Inc. processes this data in the United States and other countries. This constitutes a disclosure of personal information to an overseas recipient under APP 8 of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Meta is bound by its Data Processing Terms, standard contractual obligations, and applicable privacy frameworks.
The Zanvy mobile app does not embed the Meta SDK, Meta Pixel, or any advertising tracking library. Measurement data flows only from our website and server — not from within the app.
You can opt out of Meta using your data for ad measurement at any time:
- Visit facebook.com/adpreferences to adjust your ad settings.
- On iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable Facebook.
- On Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID.
12. Children's Privacy
Zanvy is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Zanvy after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
14. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, you are entitled to make a complaint. Please contact us first at support@zanvy.com.au so we have the opportunity to resolve your concern.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
